A Gallup poll asked people in 143 countries ‘Is religion an important part of your daily life?’
blank_pageIn Egypt 100 per cent answered yes. Close behind were Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and a number of African countries. Least religious according to the poll was Estonia, with 14 per cent. Degree of religiosity was closely related to the country’s standard of living. No note was taken of the kind of religion.
