Germany's Chancellor has been speaking of her shock at the gun rampage in Winnenden.
blank_pageShe called it an appalling crime, saying it was unimaginable that so many died in so short a time. Angela Merkel said: ‘I am horrified, and shocked by what has happened. It's a day of mourning for the whole of Germany. Our thoughts are with the families and family members. We're thinking of them and praying for them.' See also ‘World' item following.
